Notes on the data
- eBay's Pro page prints some values in merged cells; the A$0.33 per-order fee and the 2.75% above-A$4,000 rate for Basic, Featured and Anchor plans are taken from eBay's own worked examples on that page.
- eBay's free-selling page states a 3% international fee while the Pro page states 1.1%; the calculator applies 3% to free selling and overseas sellers and 1.1% to Pro plans, as each page says.
- Services (category 316) carry a flat A$44.00 final value fee and are not in the dropdown.
Questions sellers ask
- Does eBay Australia still charge final value fees?
- Not for most private sellers. Under the free selling model on eBay Australia's selling fees page (updated 9 October 2026), sellers with an Australian registration address, no Pro plan and total sales of A$25,000 or less in the preceding 12 months pay no final value fee and no per-order fee. They get 250,000 free listings a month, pay A$1.00 per listing beyond that, and 3% on sales delivered outside Australia.
- What happens above A$25,000?
- eBay checks the 12-month total monthly; sellers above the threshold without a Pro plan are notified and move to Pro pricing. The thresholds count item price, postage and tax across all eBay sites.
- What do eBay Pro plans cost?
- Pro Starter has no monthly fee and charges 13.4% up to A$4,000 per item plus 2.5% above, with A$0.30 per order. Pro Basic (A$27.45 a month), Pro Featured (A$82.45) and Pro Anchor (A$604.95) charge lower category-tiered rates — for example 8.03%, 7.26% and 6.82% in Tier 1 (appliances, cameras, electronics, phones, consoles) and 13.09%, 11.77% and 11.11% in Tier 4 (fashion, collectables, media, sporting goods) — plus 2.75% above A$4,000 and A$0.33 per order. All figures include 10% GST.
- How much does a seller registered outside Australia pay?
- eBay's own example: a A$6,000 item pays A$0.30 plus 13.4% of A$4,000 (A$536) plus 2.5% of A$2,000 (A$50), a total of A$586.30. Pick 'Seller registered outside Australia' and enter 6000 to see it.
- What about the international fee?
- eBay's free-selling page states 3% of the total sale when the buyer's delivery address is outside Australia; the Pro page states 1.1% for Pro sellers. The calculator applies each page's figure to its seller type. Currency conversion costs 3.25% from 1 November 2026.
- Are the Pro rates certain?
- Most are printed outright. A few cells on eBay's Pro page are merged across plans; where that happens we have used the values eBay's own worked examples confirm, and the notes on this page say which ones. If you are on a paid Pro plan, check your own fee page before relying on a cent-exact figure.
