How Reverb fees work

Two fees come off every Reverb Payments order: the selling fee, 5% of item plus shipping with a floor and a cap, and the processing fee, a percentage of the order total including tax plus a fixed 49 cents. Fees are deducted from the payout; shipping labels bought through Reverb are billed to your statement.

Worked example

A $450 pedal with $15 shipping and $35 tax, bumped at 4.5%, sold to a US buyer by a US seller: selling fee 5% of $465 = $23.25; processing 3.19% of $500 plus $0.49 = $16.44; Bump 4.5% of $465 = $20.93; total fees $60.62; the $35 tax is remitted by Reverb; you receive $404.38.

Not included

  • Sellers in countries without Reverb Payments (including Australia), who pay PayPal’s own fees instead; use the PayPal calculator.
  • VAT or GST that Reverb may apply to its fees depending on your location.
  • Refund mechanics: the UK all-in fee is refunded in full on full refunds and not pro-rated on partial refunds.

Questions sellers ask

What are Reverb's selling fees?
A 5% selling fee on the total sale amount including shipping, with a minimum of $0.50 and a maximum of $500 (CAD 680, €500, £500), plus a Reverb Payments processing fee of 3.19% plus $0.49 on the order total including shipping and tax. Reverb Preferred Sellers pay 2.99% plus $0.49 processing. Listing is free.
How much does Reverb take on a $1,000 guitar?
With $50 shipping and $80 sales tax: selling fee 5% of $1,050 = $52.50; processing 3.19% of $1,130 plus $0.49 = $36.54; the tax is passed through, so you receive $960.96. Reverb's own example is a $15,000 guitar, where the selling fee is capped at $500 instead of $750.
What is the Bump fee?
A promoted-listing fee you set between 1% and 30% of the item total including shipping (not tax), charged only if the bumped listing sells. Reverb recommends about 4.5% for low-visibility listings; brand-new listings sold through a Direct Offer are capped at 1.5%.
What about UK sellers?
UK sellers pay a single all-in 5% with no separate processing fee, plus 1% if the buyer is outside the UK. Pick the UK region in the calculator.
What if the buyer is in another country?
A 1% cross-border fee on earnings applies when the buyer's billing country differs from your shop's country (EEA countries count as domestic to each other). If your payout currency differs from the listing currency, a 2.5% conversion fee applies to the payout subtotal after processing fees.
